Giving at The New School of Northern Virginia
Becoming a nonprofit allows us to focus more fully on the sustainability of the school and its programs, and to continually improve on a larger scale. We can fundraise to further support every aspect of our unique, innovative, and student-centered school community. The ability to fundraise gives us amazing possibilities for growth and improvement, allowing us to focus even more on program enrichment.
The New School Fund is The New School’s annual giving program. It was created to ensure that the school continues to offer the unique, creative educational environment that students thrive in. All donations to The New School Fund support operating expenses and are an important source of unrestricted funds. Voluntary contributions to The New School Fund will continually enhance the experiences and opportunities offered to our students, giving them the chance to engage even more in purposeful learning.
Unrestricted gifts are the most valuable to The New School because they allow the school to focus on budget priorities to make each student’s experience the best it can be. Every aspect of the school that each student is involved with can be strengthened by The New School Fund. Donations to support general operations will augment the budget, giving our students more resources that they can use to build a strong foundation for their future endeavors.
Tuition alone can’t help a school thrive. We are looking to grow and expand the programs and resources offered to our students by augmenting our budget. The ability to fundraise will give us the resources needed to strengthen The New School model of education by enhancing the experiences offered to every student. Donations will be used to improve all aspects of the campus and our programming to give students more. The entire New School community will play a vital role in helping expand what we are able to do for our students each year.
It continually enhances the resources, experiences, and opportunities offered to our students. Just a few of the key elements The New School Fund can enhance are:
– The number of scholarships and the amount of scholarship dollars awarded
– The technology our students and faculty work with every day
– Opportunities for professional development for teachers
The John Potter Scholarship Fund will directly support students who may not be able to afford the full cost of a New School tuition. This Fund will bolster our scholarship program, giving us the opportunity to increase the number of scholarships and the amount of scholarship dollars awarded. The Fund honors the Founder and Headmaster Emeritus of The New School, John Potter.
