As we send our graduates off to college each year I always reflect on how we’ve prepared them. In many ways, their college experience will resemble their New School experience, given our structure as a kind of middle/high school version of a liberal arts and sciences college. But our preparation goes beyond academics to an emphasis on self-awareness, and the ability to think for themselves.
