I’ve had the good fortune to be part of The New School most of my career, since 2001, when I decided to leave my job as a technical writer and move into education. My degrees are in Middle East History and the Social Sciences, so it’s safe to say I was a misfit in the IT office. I’m enormously grateful to John Potter for taking a chance on me. I didn’t have experience as a middle school or high school teacher, after all, and my education and employment history wasn’t exactly typical for a secondary school teacher…
